The winner of our third 60th Anniversary Competition is Marie Webster with this lovely story below and photo to the right.
Most of my childhood was spent sat at the top of Latrigg taking in the beauty of my home town.
I can no longer walk far due to illness and never thought I would be on top of Latrigg again. Can you imagine what it was like and the joy it brings to get out on the fells again in specialist equipment, made special with the company of Max Keswick K -9. It was a Day I will treasure always.
I grew up with the George Fisher store my brother as well as my father and myself bought quite a lot of equipment from there and we were always looking to see what was new in there. My favourite item was a padded jacket which kept me warm in winter.
I worked for Richard Fisher at Fine Designs and admired his art work greatly. He was a very talented artist and sculpture.
The George Fisher store is part of Keswick and has supplied many with equipment to keep people safe on the fells. The Fishers were also part of the Keswick Mountain Rescue and were called out regularly to help deal with incidents on the fells. I think that is what the store instilled with me having the right equipment to enjoy the fells.
Marie wins a George Fisher 60th Anniversary Goody Bag.
